Key Stage 3
Key Stage 3 Drama takes students on a journey through a wide range of theatrical styles and techniques. Starting at the most basic level, discovering how to become someone new, our students build the skills to be able to create and perform in complex scripted and improvised plays that reflect a wide range of different styles and genres.
Whilst some students start in Year 7 with some experience in Drama, we know that for the majority of students this is all very new. We do not set by ability as each half term teaches a new skill and different way of working. We know that not all students can excel in all areas of theatre, but we do look out for Gifted and Talented students and ensure they are pushed to reach their full potential. We equally understand that some find Drama a challenging and sometimes daunting subject. We work very closely with all students to ensure they feel they are in a safe learning environment which encourages them to push their personal boundaries and make the progress they are capable of and they often exceed their own expectations.
