Safeguarding

The Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) for the College is Assistant Headteacher Mr Green - adam.green@exmouthcollege.devon.sch.uk

The Safeguarding Officer for the College is Mrs Hunter, jessica.hunter@exmouthcollege.devon.sch.uk who is the initial contact for safeguarding concerns during the school day and a Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL). We also have an Early Help Lead and Family Liaison officer, Mareike Coakley. The College has five senior staff Safeguarding Leads who are Headteacher Mr Inman, Deputy Headteacher Mrs Malton, and Assistant Headteachers Mr Dyer, Mrs Lasker and Mr Hunter-Smith. The Governors have designated individuals with responsibility for Safeguarding.

We recognise our moral and statutory responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of all students. We endeavour to provide a safe and welcoming environment where students are respected and valued. We are alert to the signs of abuse and neglect and follow our procedures to ensure that students receive effective support, protection and justice. We work closely with many other organisations to support students and their families, including Early Help, Operation Encompass and Children’s Social Care.

If you have any concerns about your child or a child within the College, please do contact us.

Alternatively, if it is at a weekend or during school holidays, you can contact Devon Children's Front Door (MASH). Please click on the link below for information on how to make a request for support or report a child safety concern.
