Set on the ground floor of the Health and Social Care block, we provide a large, safe outdoor garden space for the children to explore and enjoy. The garden consists of climbing and play equipment, bikes and scooters and a large grass area to enhance physical development. The space also provides a sand pit, mud kitchen and vegetable patch for investigation, exploration and learning about the World we live in. Our garden also includes an undercover area which allows outdoor play all year round.
Our experienced team of staff offer a safe, friendly, caring and happy environment for children aged 0-5 to learn, grow and develop. All children are assigned a key-person for parents to use as a point of contact for any of their children’s needs. A key-person is allocated based on the relationship that each child builds with the staff members, they can be changed throughout their time in each room if necessary.
The nursery is separated into 3 rooms:
Our baby room is a safe space away from the hustle and bustle of nursery life. They have a carpeted area for cosy play such as exploring treasure baskets and story time. They also have a hard floor area for all types of messy play which ranges from paint to mud. They enjoy snack and meal times together sat at the table with highchairs and cabin chairs. The baby room has a separate cot room for the children to enjoy their daytime naps in peace and quiet.
Our Toddlers benefit from their own space which can also open into the Pre-School room for free-flow play. The room consists of a variety of areas which allow the children a chance for imaginative, messy and quieter play throughout the day. Snack and meal times are a sociable time, building on the children’s communication and language as well as establish and encourage friendships that they create during their time at Happy Days.
Our Pre-School children move freely through our two-part room. Play and activities are a little more structured to enable children to become ready for new adventures at school. We offer circle time at morning and afternoon registration, which can consist of story and song time, sharing time and small group activities. The children have an established home corner which often changes purpose according to the planned topic and children’s interests. Our Pre-School children learn through play with a variety of activities during the day.
