Rotary Club Young Chef's Competition

Year 9 and 10 Food students took part in the Rotary Club's Young Chef's competition.

Students had to plan and prepare a main course that cost less than £5 for two portions and consisted of a healthy, balanced meal. Students had one hour to prepare and plate up ready for judging. The standard was exceptionally high this year and all students worked incredibly hard to create their dishes.

The winner was Keri Browning who cooked a chicken curry and Bombay potatoes with second place going to Bartek Golonko for their dish of Greek Chicken and tzatziki:

Third place went to Sophie Plackett for Pan fried lemon salmon and sautéed potatoes:

Highly recommended was Will Cartlidge for his full flavoured Chicken Kiev.

Well done to all those who took part. Kerri and Bartek both progress onto the next round of the competition at South Devon College in November.
