Community Cadets Helicopter Visit

Community cadets were treated last night to a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity as they were taken air-side of the airport through security checks and a police escort to visit the Police helicopter

Students were allowed in the helicopter and were shown first hand how the sophisticated equipment helps to catch criminals, search for missing people or evacuate casualties. Cadets met the flying team including the Pilot and the Police Officers who all work very closely together.  The visit was then interrupted when a call came through and the team had to scramble the helicopter and tend to an incident in Cornwall. Students were then given a quick tour of the building and a presentation regarding the work of the NPAS ( National Police Air Service). Lots of interested questions were asked by the cadets and we already have a few budding pilots!

Special thanks must go to PC Evans and PC Sims for arranging this amazing experience which left everybody wanting to take to the skies!
