Uniform Update - Summer 2022

Dear Parents/Carers,

The Government has introduced new statutory guidance from September 2022 in regard to the cost of uniform. The purpose of this guidance is to ensure the cost of school uniforms is reasonable and secures the best value for money.

As a result, the College has updated its uniform requirements for September 2022. There are no major changes other than the requirement to purchase branded College items has been kept to a minimum and opportunities created to purchase more non branded items.

As a quick overview, please see below which branded and non-branded item are permitted for September 2022:

College uniform branded items from September 2022
  • Branded PE T Shirt (purple)
  • Branded Outdoor Warm PE top (ECC will support families here if this is required)
  • Branded School Jumper
  • Branded Tie
  • Specified Banner Trousers - details available on the college website - link below
  • Specified Banner Skirts - details available on the college website - link below
Optional
  • Banner short permitted from May half term to the summer holiday
College uniform/kit non branded items from September 2022
  • Plain black Tracksuit bottoms (with no white stripes)
  • No branding Plain black Shorts
  • No branding Plain black Socks
ECC Leggings are being withdrawn for September 2022 and should not be purchased by new Year 7 students from September 2022. The new Year 7 from September 2022 should purchase items as outlined above.

Students in Years 8 to 11 from September 2022 will still be permitted to wear additional legacy branded items already purchased, including ECC leggings, however, once these items have worn out, they should replace these legacy items with the specified items detailed above.

All Year Groups (7 to 11) will be permitted to wear their PE kits on days they have core PE only (this will be reinstated for Year 10 into 11). For students studying GCSE PE and NCFE Health and Fitness in Year 10 and 11, they should wear normal uniform on the days they have their GCSE lessons and only wear PE kit all day when they have core PE lessons only.

For students studying GCSE PE, there will no longer be a requirement to purchase a separate GCSE PE shirt (students can wear their purple PE shirt). In addition, students studying Dance will be able to wear their PE kit for lessons, however, it will be optional to purchase a black t-shirt and plain black tracksuit rather than a branded kit as previously required.

Please can we also draw your attention to the full list of uniform, equipment and PE kit items for September 2022. This also lists items that are not permitted to be worn in College for your reference. We would strongly advise all parents/carers to read this information before purchasing any uniform, kit and equipment items for September.
