Physical Education

Our goal for the students at Exmouth Community College is to strive for a healthy, active and successful future. This journey will start by gaining a better understanding of physical literacy, which means having the motivation, confidence, physical competence, knowledge, and understanding to value and take responsibility for engagement in physical activities and exercise for life.

We will offer opportunities to learn new skills and enhance core knowledge of different components of fitness throughout the physical education journey. This will enable them to access new sports and give students the opportunity to experience a variety of roles, including leadership and coaching.

This leads to us focussing on students having better opportunities to experience healthy, mental, physical and social wellbeing leading to a successful future which is the framework of the Me in Pe KS3 curriculum. This curriculum gives students opportunities to succeed and supports development of a love of physical education.

Following a curriculum which provides positive, memorable experiences and rich opportunities for high quality learning, we want all students to leave Exmouth Community College as resilient, ambitious individuals who can respond positively to all challenges and use these experiences as steppingstones to success.

For those who already have a passion for Physical Education we will give opportunities to participate in local, regional and national competitions as well as having good links to local sports clubs and facilities.
