MCAS for Year 10
Please read the information here: How to manage Absence Notifications from MCAS – Bromcom – Documentation Centre
Why we are making this change?
MyChildAtSchool (MCAS) is widely used in schools across the country and offers a secure, user‑friendly platform for managing attendance. It allows parents and carers to view attendance information in real time, receive notifications, and communicate more easily with the school. This will support our ongoing work to strengthen attendance, improve communication, and ensure that families have the information they need to support their child.
How MyChildAtSchool Attendance Works
The MyChildAtSchool system features:
-
Live attendance marks Parents and carers can see daily attendance marks as soon as they are entered by the school.
-
Clear attendance dashboards The system provides simple visual summaries of attendance, including present, authorised absence, unauthorised absence, and late marks.
-
Easy reporting of absences Parents and carers can submit absence explanations directly through the system, reducing delays and improving accuracy.
These features are designed to make attendance information clearer, more transparent, and easier to manage for both families and the school.
You have access to many of these features already, the change is that from September you should report all absences via the app. We will have the ability to manage a small number of families who aren't able to use the app or web portal individually, but the current year group emails addresses will be deactivated.
