Cantare Choir to Perform at Exeter Cathedral

South West School Choir Cup Winners to Perform at Exeter Cathedral

Great to meet Cantare last week which is one of our senior school choirs. They have just become the South West School Choir Cup winner for 2019/20 having beaten off fierce competition from both state and private schools from across the County and are now recognised as one of the top choirs across the South West.

They will be preforming at our annual Rotary Concert on Tuesday 19th November in the Main School Hall if you would like to see them in action. Tickets are available from College. They will also be performing at Exeter Cathedral on December 14th - see below for more information.

Well done to them all!

Samantha Abrahams, the director of La La Choirs:

La La Choirs are delighted that Cantare Choir from Exmouth Community College, will be performing at this years CLIC for Christmas concert at Exeter Cathedral on Saturday 14th December. They won their place at the final which took place on October 3rd at Southernhay Church. Only five schools from across the county made that final stage and Kate Lee’s Cantare singers really rose to the occasion to win the coveted slot. Samantha Abrahams, Music Director of La La Choirs said “I am so delighted that the work the music team at Exmouth Community College has been showcased today and that they have won and will be performing with us in December. As a supporter of the school having previously had children attend, I know how dedicated the staff are and it really shone today at the final.

This event is the highlight of the year for La La Choirs and has been sold out every year. It has so far raised over £60,000 for the charity CLIC Sargent that supports children and young people with cancer and their families. One of the winning young singers thanked Laura Cowcher, South West Fundraising Manager at CLIC Sargent, for the support they had recently been providing for their sibling. It was a truly touching moment. The work CLIC Sargent does is invaluable in every community so for an opportunity to support that and to see the always entertaining La La Choirs and the marvellous Cantare go to and celebrate the joy of the Christmas season with us all
