Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh's Award

Congratulations to our KS4 & KS5 students for completing their Bronze and Silver Duke of Edinburgh's Award.

KS4: In order to achieve it, they had to complete four elements;  a volunteering, physical and a skills section which was done over a period of three to six months. The fourth element of the award was an overnight expedition in the local area, which included hiking, navigation, an overnight camp, camp craft, cooking, and being self sufficient. Many of our students enjoyed participating in the award so much that they are now working towards completing their Silver Award.

Well done everyone! A great achievement!

Plus, congratulations to our Post 16 students who have all successfully completed their Silver Duke of Edinburgh's Award. In order to achieve it, they had to complete four sections; volunteering, physical and skills for a period of between three and twelve months. In addition to this, they completed a two night, three day practice expedition on Dartmoor, and an assessed qualifying expedition on the Brecon Beacons. Most of them are now working towards completing their Gold Award before heading off to University. Well done to all of them for such a great achievement!
