Curriculum Intent Year 7 – Creating a love for Physical Education – 2 lessons a week

By the end of Year 7 our students will have –

  • Undertaken base level tasks at the start of the year.
  • Been introduced to the ME in PE assessment
  • Experienced sporting areas such as - Orienteering, Gymnastics, Health and Fitness, Athletics, Strike and Fielding, Dance, Invasion games, Net/wall games.
  • Developed the basic skills required for each sport, knowledge of the rules and regulations and a combination of interpersonal skills which aid them in performance. 

 

Curriculum Intent Year 8 – Broadening Sporting Experiences – 2 lessons a week

By the end of Year 8 our students will have –

  • Undertaken base level tasks at the start of the year.
  • Continued to develop ME in PE.
  • Experienced a wider range of sports including: Netball, Hockey, Health and Fitness, Rugby, Football, Badminton, Gymnastics, Handball, Volleyball, Orienteering, Dance, Athletics, Tennis, Rounder’s and Cricket.
  • Further developed skills required for each sport, knowledge of the rules and regulations and a combination of interpersonal skills which aid them in performance, leadership roles and looking more into the manipulation of the skill in order to produce a desired outcome.

 

Curriculum Intent Year 9 – Developing Skills and Embedding Knowledge – 2 lessons a week

By the end of Year 9 our students will have –

  • Undertaken base level tasks at the start of the year.
  • Continued to develop ME in PE.
  • Experienced a wider range of sports including: Netball, Hockey, Health and Fitness, Rugby, Football, Badminton, Gymnastics, Handball, Volleyball, Trampolining, Orienteering, Dance, Athletics, Tennis, Rounder’s and Cricket
  • Consolidate skills required for each sport, knowledge of the rules and regulations and a combination of interpersonal skills which aid them in performance, leadership roles and looking more into the manipulation of the skill in order to produce a desired outcome and the use of tactics to enhance performance.
  • Have a knowledge of KS4 Physical Education courses available.
