Tourism
Level 2 Tourism
This is an exciting one year course course, which introduces one of the most important and dynamic employment sectors in the UK. Learning is focused on applied learning and you will be able to apply your knowledge and skills on a range of tasks set in a tourism context. A range of visits will be made to key tourist organisations such as attractions. The course will help learners progress to further study or enter the workplace. Successful completion of this course, together with other equivalent qualifications, could open access to Level 3 courses (e.g. A levels in Tourism and BTECs) and apprenticeships in travel services, cabin crew and aviation operations on the ground. Tasks set are motivating as they are set in real world contexts. The course is set around the concept of a 'plan, do, review' approach to learning.
The course is assessed by the completion of 3 units:
Unit 1: Customer Experience - internally assessed as a portfolio
Unit 2: Business of Tourism is an exam which is externally assessed
unit 3: Developing UK Tourist Destinations - internally assessed as a portfolio
The course is graded: Pass, Merit and Distinction.
