Mock General Election

Today in Lesson 42, the whole college completed a mock General Election.

After discussing key terms and learning new vocab, each ‘constituency’ (tutor group) were given the key priorities of six different political parties, and these were discussed with their tutors and classmates. Pupils then had to vote for the policies that meant the most to them to elect the representative MP for their constituency. The policies were unnamed, and pupils were only told who they had voted for after voting. The results are really interesting, as you can see! Tutors said that pupils across the school were passionate and enthusiastic in their discussions and in their beliefs. Hopefully this will lead to some excellent discussions between pupils, teachers and parents before tomorrow’s election!
