| The Libraries | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Key research findings show that parental involvement has a major impact on a student’s reading success. Students can never do enough reading in school - there just isn’t time. Encourage your child to visit our libraries and see the range of interesting and diverse resources on offer. Library staff are happy to help with book selection, homework, ICT skills and organise lots of fun ways to engage and encourage your child to further success. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Bullying | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Including verbal, physical and emotional will not be tolerated. If you believe/know your child is being bullied contact your child’s Tutor or Year Head immediately. Any student who uses the internet or mobile phones to bully or ridicule other students, or insult or denigrate staff will face the normal disciplinary procedures of the College. Bullying of students or abuse of staff, in any form, will not be tolerated. |

| Staff Supervision | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
During the College day arrangements are made for staff supervision of students from 10 minutes before the start of the school day until 10 minutes after the end of the school day. We accept no responsibility for students on the College premises before 8.00am or 10 minutes after the close of school, unless they are here on an authorised and official College activity in the care of a member of staff. Students must leave the site completely at the end of the College day unless involved in a College class or activity with staff supervision. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Leaving the Site | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Students may only leave the site with the written permission of the College (which they must carry with them) based on a letter from a parent / carer or to visit an approved venue with College permission. In all cases a student must sign out and back in at the Key Stage Office. If unwell: a student may NOT leave the site until collected by a nominated adult. |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Permission to Leave College Early | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| We expect students to be at College for the whole of the morning and afternoon sessions. Occasionally parents may have good reason for wanting their son/daughter to be released early from a College session. Normally students may only leave College if a written request is received from a parent at least the day before. |
